Race
Info
On
Saturday, July 23th, 2005, Hennessy’s Taverns of California is
proud to host the Hennessey’s International Paddleboard Championships – an
8-mile race starting at Hawaii Kai following the South Shore coastline
and finishing on the beach at Kaimana Beach, Waikiki, Oahu. This
is a true international event with top competitors hailing from across
the U.S, Hawaii, New Zealand, Japan and Australia.
This is an open-ocean, nearshore race. Support boats, skiffs and
lifeguard jetskis will be in the water for your safety. Additionally,
this is a solo and team event.
Top finishers for Team California, Team Hawaii and Team Australia will accumulate
points for an overall Team World Champion.
To make the race just a bit more interesting, there is a total of
$10,000 in cash prizes for the top finishers in the unlimited,
stock, and Wahine divisions
overall (see below).
In
the race tradition of Hennessey’s Taverns and the Southern California
Paddleboard Association, an awards banquet and dinner will follow the race
at the Honolulu Zoo in
Waikiki the evening of the
race, complete with live entertainment, awards ceremony, dinner and raffle.
For an additional charge, family and friends who would like to join
the evening’s
event are welcome to do so.
